Tommy Vercetti, a member of the Liberty City mafia, has been just released from prison. Tommy's deal with the Vance Crime Family at the docks, an ambush by a group of hitmen and results in the death of Tommy's bodyguards and the drug dealer. Tommy escapes with his life and loses both Forelli's money and the drugs. Tommy must battle his way through anyone who stands in his way between him, the money and the drugs. The game is set in 1986 in fictional Vice City, which is based on Miami, Florida.
