Claire Bond Potter is Professor of History at the New School, New York City. She is the author of War on Crime: Bandits, G-Men and the Politics of Mass Culture (Rutgers, 1998) and co-editor, with Renee Romano, of Doing Recent History: On Privacy, Copyright, Video Games, Institutional Review Boards, Activist Scholarship, and History That Talks Back (University of Georgia, 2012.) She is currently writing a political history of feminism's sex wars, and is the author of the blog Tenured Radical, which moved to the Chronicle of Higher Education in 2011. In thespirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
