March 2012 saw 20 strangers from around the world get together to cycle 500kms across Cambodia in the fight against sex trafficking and slavery. 2--4 million women and children were sold into prostitution in 2011. Many of these children are sold for as little as $10, and some are as young as 5 years old. Human trafficking is the second largest organized crime in the world. That means more people will profit from trafficking children than from smuggling drugs. Profits for sex slavery exceed US$9.5 billion per year. Human trafficking victims are subject to rape, torture, forced abortions, starvation, and threats to family members.
