www.ctvvancouverisland.ca http VANCOUVER -- Friends of Ximena Osegueda say they have some comfort knowing police have made arrests connected to the death of their friend. Osegueda's body along with her boyfriends were found in December on a beach in Huatulco. The two were half-buried and decomposing. Mexican police say five people have been arrested in connection with the deaths. Police are still looking for three other suspects accused of robbery, murder, and organized crime. Osegueda's ex-husband says she was not involved in criminal activity but believes her new car made her a target. The new vehicle has played an important role in the case. Inside, police discovered receipts from a butcher shop where police found footage of the suspects. Osegueda was a student at the University of British Columbia. Roughly one week after her body was found, a second person from British Columbia was announced dead in the country. Salt Spring's Robin Wood was shot point blank in Melaque in January. Travel experts say the arrests will help ease traveller's concerns about travelling from Mexico to Canada. Follow Joe Perkins on Twitter: www.twitter.com
