National Night Out "National Night Out" is a unique crime prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. In the past "National Night Out" has involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from 10000 communities from all 50 states. In 2004, over 34 million people participated in the event. "National Night Out" is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals, letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, cities, towns and neighborhoods celebrate "National Night Out" with a variety of events and activities, including block parties, cookouts, flashlight walks, contests, and youth programs. Several years ago the police department participated in this event, and we are continuing it with your support. The event is held at the high school with participation from Watertown Hospital, Fort Atkinson Hospital, UW Hospital, Lake Mills Fire Department, Lake Mills EMS, Town of Lake Mills, other law enforcement departments, music, food and much, much more. Come and visit the vendors and support this national program. The Lake Mills Police Department Website: ( lakemillspolice.org )
