Apparently the many fans of the horrorcore group Insane Clown Posse are not just rowdy mosh-pitters in clown make-up, they're considered a gang. Last week the FBI released their 2011 National Gang Threat Assesment, describing these fans, also known as Juggalos, as a hybrid gang. A hybrid gang is considered a group that bases their affiliation with a common national symbol and has members crossover from gang to gang. The law enforcement agency says the Juggalos are present in at least 21 states, with more gang-related reports in the states of Arizona, California, Pennsylvania , Utah, and Washington. The report describes most of the Juggalo groups are disorganized, participating in individualistic crimes such as simple assault, petty theft, and vandalism. However, the FBI cautions the public saying their open source reporting has revealed that a small number of Juggalos are organizing to commit more gang-like crime such as felony assault, robberies, and drug sales. The report also said that social networking websites are popular among their organized gangs but the mostly disorganized nature of the group makes it hard for police to track and arrest.
