The United States has set a timetable under the Obama administration, with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pushing hard for the US to sign the United Nations gun ban treaty. This "treaty" would effectively ban all handgun rifle and shotgun ownership of the honest citizens within the US. The criminals would still get their guns of course. In places that have adopted the UN treaty, crime has actually increased, because criminals no longer have the armed honest citizen to fear. Contact you Senator and Congressman and tell them in no uncertain terms to vote against this treaty. UPDATE: The US Senate had the backbone to preemptively tell the UN overlords that they WILL NOT ratify the treaty. It is a significant victory for the US. It is almost mind-blowing for the Senate to stand up to the globalist mafia in this way. But it will likely be a short celebration, as you can bet your last dollar they will be back soon with the same thing in a different disguise.
