The gang had well-organized and smooth operations, trading large amounts of methamphetamine. In China's northern Hebei Province, local authorities arrested alleged drug dealers after four months of investigation. The drug trafficking gang made and sold more than nine pounds (or 4450 grams) of methamphetamine. Back in April, someone had tipped off authorities that over 100 dealers and addicts were involved in drug trade. The gang's operations were apparently well planned. [Yan Limin, Shijiazhuang Public Security Bureau Member]: "They never had a regular trading time, place and delivery men. The members had a fixed division of labor and never jumped their role. There was no contact between delivery men, for example, and they didn't know one another." Their top leader, surnamed Li, smuggled drugs between Shijiazhuang and Chengdu cities. His partner, Chen, would place the methamphetamine in home appliances that Li would then purchase and have shipped back to Shijiazhuang. But Li's shopping pattern was unusual and it prompted a police investigation that found drugs hidden in all of the appliances. Police arrested both men on August 4th.
