A sonnet that I did for my AP Lit class. Its so hard to listen to but it was for extra credit...so worth it i guess. You're here to destroy the completion like a strip mine You gotta focus on the task, you gotta think ahead of time What people think is none of your concern, keep your eyes on the prize, you gotta reach the finish line You stand in the blocks, get ready to go, you're gonna steal this race like organized crime You've run this race before, now let's go, crawl in the blocks and you're ready to explode You hear those cheers, you listen to them fade Just watch as you go into super swag hurdle mode You're outta the blocks, but don't be delayed There's no time to waste, no room for mistake You gotta win this race, so pick up the pace Go as fast as you can, don't step on the brake And if you have a misstep than you're out of the chase Get our team a victory Do what you promised, and don't be contradictory
