The world is learning of the evil nature of the Catholic Church since its inception. People that were afraid to speak out before are doing so around the world, giving testimony of the abuse, torture, terror, starvation and inhumane conditions that the catholic nuns forced them to live under in catholic institutions called: Magdalene Laundries. These were catholic institutions run by nuns - a business where the city's laundry was done- and they would have young women doing all the work for 10-12 hours a day without pay. Yet the nuns would pocket all the profit from the service. The girls were stared despite the money that was given to the nuns to provide food and shelter for these young women. They would manipulate their young minds, terrorizing them telling them they were sinners, destroying their confidence. They were prohibited from speaking or dealing with the outside world, and their names were changed in an attempt for them to forget about their past or so that if they ever got out, they wouldn't realize they were part of an organized crime scheme. This systematic abuse took place in Australia, Canada, USA, Ireland, and other countries. The catholic orders involved included the sisters of mercy, sisters of st,joseph, sisters of good shepherd amongst others.
