This song was recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle by legendary engineer, Kearney Barton (who recorded The Kingmen's version of "Louie, Louie" and "Angel Of The Morning" by Merrilee Rush and many others.) It was an 8 track analog studio, recorded onto 1 inch reel to reel tape. When I wrote this song, I was in the process of starting another band, eventually to be called CRIME SCENE, but at this particular time, I had no band. The Santairs had disbanded and I was ready to form a new group, but this song came about, sometime in the early 90's. I knew all the parts that I wanted, but I was a very poor drummer, just learning how to hit the skins, so I opted to program a synthesizer to play the drum parts. Once done, I overdubbed the bass, the guitars, the vocals, maracas, and an odd percussive instrument I played at the beginning of the song which I don't know what it's called to this day. I even sang through a megaphone during the second verse, much sounding like the second verse of Susie-Q. There are 3 versions of this song. Version one is the longest of the bunch to equal the version CCR did for their long version of Susie-Q. The second version is the shorter version, which is the first half of the song. And version 3 is the second half of the long version. This particular take is version 3, (aka KA-TRINA—(PART II)). To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format (which was the only format I had this in) that was about 17 years old ...
