"Few love to hear the sins they love to act" - William Shakespeare "Sexuality in the eyes of urban youth" was the theme of a film workshop that took place from 8th to 12th July at the Goethe-Institut Dhaka. The event was organized by video production house and new media studio GREEN ink. The workshop taught its 20 participants all essential film-making techniques. This included how to write a script, how to use the camera and how to edit a film. In the course of the workshop, the participants have developed five different short films evolving around the workshop's main topic. The films dealt with issues such as homosexuality, sex before marriage, casual sex, abortion and prostitution. Ehsan Kabir, CEO and Founder of GREEN ink., says: "We want to use this film workshop as an opportunity to teach interested people more about the art and fun of film-making. At the same time we also want to provide the youth of Bangladesh a platform to express themselves. GREEN ink. is aware of its social responsibilities and we believe that a video should not just be a pure medium of entertainment, but also a medium for messages that can influence and stimulate society in a positive way". The workshop is part of the Goethe-Institut's "Urban Youth Arts Festival" which will take place in September.
