A walkthrough of the start of organized crime in the 1920's. The prohibition era led to much crime as people known as bootleggers started smuggling alcohol across the border. Corrupt police officials were easily swayed into looking the other way and underground bars known as speakeasies came about. The heads of these crime families became very famous in their cities. People such as Al Capone, Bugsy Siegel, and Charles Luciano. Crime bosses were making large amounts of cash and they started kidnapping for ransom. The most famous of which was the Lindbergh kidnapping case When the 18th amendment was repealed in 1933 this effectively ended the "Golden Age of Crime"
