Just days after 'American Idol' Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips was celebrating his release from the hospital following a crucial kidney surgery, he is now facing a new hardship. The Phillips' family Pawn Shop "Albany Sporting Goods and Pawn" located in Albany, Georgia, has been robbed in an apparent organized crime. According to TMZ, an organized set of thieves smashed into the back of the Georgia store with a backhoe belonging to Albany Water Gas and Light that was hotwired and stolen from a nearby job site. After cutting power and phone lines to the building, and entering, the vandals reportedly stole over $4000 worth of merchandise in the store that included jewelry, flat screen TVs, rare coins, and the entire cash register. To make matters worse, the Phillips' family was not in Georgia during the raid, as 21-year-old son Phillip was in California recovering from his most recent painful surgery. The shop is currently up for sale, and went on the market 10 days before the 'Idol' finale for $200000. So far no arrests have been made, but we will keep you updated on this developing story.
