Yesterday it was announced that Benny Wenda is removed from the infamous Red Notice list of Interpol. Due to the hard work and dedication of Fair Trials International, Benny Wenda is rightly removed from the Red Notice list. On their website the following was written: Benny Wenda, a refugee from Indonesia now living in Oxford with his family, has been subject to an Interpol 'red notice' placing him at risk of extradition back to Indonesia. Responding to a challenge by Fair Trials International, Interpol admitted that the case against Benny was 'predominantly political in nature' and an abuse of the red notice system.
