A major insurance fraud ring was busted in Cape Coral, Florida on March 21st, 2012. "Operation Whiplash" led to the arrests of 12 people for Personal Injury Protection insurance fraud. Investigators have seized vehicles, at least one airplane and multiple bank accounts. It is believed that the clinics owned by the individuals responsible for these acts may be responsible for up to $22.5 million of fraud per year.
