Subscribe for the latest news from SNTV: bit.ly Interpol and football look for ways forward to fight match fixing. Ronald K Noble, Secretary General, Interpol, (On the need to modernize policing): "21st century police, prosecutors and judges of virtually every country are forced to use centuries old law, rules and practices to fight crime. As a result we keep falling behind. And we fail to work together as effectively as we could". Ronald K Noble, Secretary General, Interpol (On why no one country can be blamed for match fixing): "It is counter productive to make it appear even inadvertently that only one organized crime group located in one country is primarily responsible for all match fixing throughout the world. This is especially true when the country is from a different region and it is especially counter productive when we know that transnational crime groups all over the world are involved in match fixing and illegal betting". Ralf Mutschke, Director of Security, FIFA, (On needing to act now against fixers): "Football is a team sport and we have to play as a team if we have to be successful. But the match started already. And we are lagging behind. This is the reason why I have called upon you to join us on the pitch... Play, tackle, and score. I would like to see action after having agreed to the tactics".
