Opening scenes show a couple asleep in bed when an apparent thief breaks in and makes a noise. The husband goes to investigate and is hit from behind. He falls to floor and is helped by his wife. They discover items left behind by thief. When police arrive at scene, they immediately post a police guard at door to protect crime scene until detectives arrive. Upon the detectives arrival, they gather physical evidence from the crime scene which they identify, photograph, collect, box, label to send to FBI crime lab.
