Presentation In order to present what I do, I must necessarily begin with the representation of the place I come from. I was born twenty-two years ago in the Republic of Colombia while Mr. Virgilio Barco Vargas was president. This country is located in the northwestern zone of South America, it has coasts on the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean, and it is one of the most biodiversity rich countries in the world. Our national symbols are the orchid, the national flower; the condor, the national bird; the palma de cera as the national tree, the coat of arms and the tricolored flag. The place where I first turned up is a paradise, full of nice, generous, and lively people. Our landscapes are perfect, there are curved strokes wherever you look, art and culture that express our feelings as a people, and countless brilliant and creative minds that try to make this piece of land a better place. However, Colombia also has terrible social and political problems. There is drug trafficking, drug terrorism, guerrillas, paramilitares and organized crime. The former are all factors that keep Colombia within a constant crisis. Highlighting the negative things of the place I was born, the place that justifies what I am and which encloses my identity in every speck of earth is not my intention. I understand the needs that some people have to detect all the problems, conflicts, necessities, etc. that afflict Colombia. But I am here to talk about what makes me paint, capture images, write ...
