Cabacungan Jr. Philippine Daily Inquirer First Posted 04:50:00 08/06/2010 MANILA, Philippines—After being dropped from the list of accused in the murder of publicist Salvador "Bubby" Dacer and driver Emmanuel Corbito, former Senior Supt. Glenn Dumlao said the government prosecution team forced him to pin down Sen. Panfilo "Ping" Lacson in his appearances in court. Lacson left the country in January after a Manila Regional Trial Court issued an arrest warrant against him in connection with the Dacer-Corbito murders in 2000. The Department of Justice is seeking the cancellation of his passport. In an interview in his lawyer's office in Makati, Dumlao said Presiding Judge Myra Garcia-Fernandez of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 18 had granted his motion to drop him from the list of suspects because the Supreme Court had already done so since October 2005. Dumlao said he was surprised his name was reinserted in the charge sheet by the prosecution in July 2006. He said he was unable to oppose it because he was then in hiding in the United States to escape pressure from the Arroyo administration for him to testify against Lacson, a relentless critic of the administration. Dumlao said he was irked that the prosecution had admitted to making an "inadvertent mistake" in including his name in the charge sheet.
