BANJIE THE BEAST is a story about two worlds, filled with those who pursued serenity with fervor and paid a heavy price. In St. Iyer, Vincent Dunne, a 22-year-old biology student at St. Iyer University, has been given a hideous proposal by the radical scientist, William Medlock. Medlock, a visionary under The Institute of Genetic Engineering, offered Vincent the proposition after sensing his fascination with animals and nature. After contemplating the intrigue and wrestling with his obsession, the young man leaps at the opportunity, and subsequently, decides to offer his son Banjie for the experiment. Using a serum crafted for mutagenesis, Medlock plans to inject the infant Banjie with a chemical that mimics recombinant DNA. With the promise of an antidote that reverses the procedure, Vincent agrees, but to his dismay, Medlock's ideals go beyond scientific. Blending the child's DNA with that of a primate and grizzly bear, the result was ghastly, and, to Vincent's horror, permanent. Laden with grief, the young scholar kills himself at the scene of the transformation, leaving Banjie to his loving mother, and a new discomfort in the community, with Medlock still at large. Outside the city limits, another man has made considerably wretched choices in regards to his family. Shawn Harley, a poster-child for depravity, is now the leader of organized crime.
