Bandana Tied Around Jesus's Face in Winnipeg Gang Music Video

Gang members shot scenes for a music video inside St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetary, taking pictures, flashing gang sings and wrapping a bandana in their gang colours around a crucifix -- on the face of Jesus on the cross. A little-known record label -- Gang Life Recordz -- posted photos and a "behind the scenes" video of the shoot on Facebook and YouTube. The Winnipeg police organized crime unit is now investigating the incident, but so far no charges have been laid. Some people with family buried in the cemetery are upset. Gang Life Recordz members told CTV News the cemetery gates were open and they drove right in. "If kinda looks disrespectful but weren't there to disrespect anyone, and weren't trying to disrespect anyone," a representative of the record label said. He said the people involved in the shoot were mostly members of one of Mantioba's gangs. Only a few of them are rappers as well. As for dressing the crucifix, he says they did it to identify with Jesus, making him look more like their god, and he wouldn't apologize for doing that. The statue wasn't damaged and the gang members took off the bandanas before leaving. The video is called "Will I Die Tonight" and is being edited in Edmonton. Once it is complete the record label plans to post it online.
