Counterfeit jean parties are a growing trend all over the United States. Investigators and law enforcement set up undercover stings to catch the subjects, who are dealing in the black market trade and the sales of counterfeit goods. The proceeds from the sales of counterfeit goods have been tied to violent street gangs, organized crime groups and terrorist organizations. It is important for consumers to understand that by buying counterfeit goods, they can be inadvertently contributing money to criminal organizations. Counterfeiting and piracy hurts the legitimate businesses, who are contributing to our local economy and paying their fair share of taxes that go back into funding schools, police and fire services. A large majority of counterfeiters do not pay taxes or contribute to their local economies. Do your part to protect legitimate businesses and do not buy counterfeit goods!
