The Lord's Resistance Army is a corrupt heterodox Christian group, which operates in northern Uganda and South Sudan. The group used to operate mainly in northern Uganda and also in parts of South Sudan. The LRA was formed in 1987 and until about 2007 it was engaged in an armed rebellion against the Ugandan government led by Joseph Kony, who proclaims himself God's "spokesperson" and a spirit medium, primarily of the Holy Spirit. As a messianic Christian fundamentalist, Kony's obsessive intent was to overthrowing Uganda's government and replacing it with one based on the Ten Commandments - oddly enough, the Law is exactly what Christ shed blood to take away, abolish and fulfill over 2000 years ago. Over 30000 children have been abducted by the religious Joseph Kony and His "Lord's Resistance Army" in Uganda.
