Wife, son of reputed RI mobster sentenced

The son of a reputed Rhode Island mobster was sentenced Friday to 6½ years in prison after pleading guilty to charges that he extorted “protection” payments from Taunton area bookies, a long-running scheme prosecutors allege was tied to a Mafia sports betting ring.
