Japan Sumo Association Chairman Musashigawa resigned Thursday due to health concerns and amid a scandal involving gambling and organized crime that has tainted the national sport. Musashigawa, who only returned to the job last week after undergoing surgery for stomach cancer in July, will be replaced by Hanaregoma, formerly known as ozeki Kaikatesu.
