FBI probe unveils allegations against Newport police officials

NEWPORT, Tenn. - The FBI has yet again zeroed in on allegations that corrupt Cocke County lawmen have been protecting organized crime in their community, bringing the number of local cops to face federal charges in recent years to nine, according to federal court records recently unsealed in Greeneville.
