Central America must fight scourge of crime

Organized crime is one of the principal threats to the security and stability of Central America. Criminal consortiums undermine the region’s social fabric, corrupt state institutions, and operate with impunity throughout the Americas. A war is being waged by organized crime, centered on drug trafficking and now principally funded by white-collar crimes.
