August is gang awareness month

Law enforcement agencies are working to stamp out organized crime in Maury County, one gang member at a time. Since 2009, authorities say they have arrested 124 known gang members. Now officials are furthering their efforts by declaring August as Youth Gang Awareness and Prevention Month.
